If you are looking to ditch the BET Experience crowd downtown L.A, take a trip west on Wilshire Blvd to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for Jazz at LACMA.
LACMA, in conjunction with KJAZZ 88.1 has started their summer series; Friday Night Jazz at LACMA. Don't know where LACMA is? Look for the Urban Light (hundreds of vintage looking street lights that don the sidewalk of Wilshire Blvd. and Ogden Ave. shown in above pic). They are instafamous and popular amongst all photogs! I'm sure you've seen them before or had your own little photo sesh there.
With this weeks perfect weather and equally amazing tunes, LACMA hosts this free event every Friday of the summer. Bring food, refreshments, (NO GLASS BOTTLES) a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy from 6:00pm-8:00pm. You end up having such a good time you probably wont leave until 10!
Here is this week's line up:
Friday June 24th: Barbara Morrison- a legendary vocalist who has worked with the likes of Ray Charles and Dizzy Gillepsie
As with all L.A.gant events....ARRIVE EARLY for a good space.
