The Time has come: Cupcake Reveal: the Urban LAgance cupcake war

After much pursuit and research, the wait is over.  There are many cupcakeries and even bakeries that serve the Los Angeles and Greater Los Angeles area worth trying.  After all it takes a lot capital and a damned good cupcake to have a functioning and thriving store front cupcakery in luxe Los Angeles.  I went scouring the city for the best cupcake and rounded it down to these three cupcakeries!  Honorable mentions go to BigMan Bakes who were closed (to my dismay) But don’t fret there will be a round two. With a tough rubric and even tougher judges: we scored icing flavor taste and moisture and trust me the judges were strict!  And the nominees…..*drum roll*

Nestled in breezy Santa Monica right off of the ocean (and

3^rd Street

Promenade) you will find Yummy Cupcakes.  With a variety of cupcakes, they also have a distinct menu of cupcake spin off’s like: the cupcake biscotti, cup cake in a jar and cupcake on a stick.

Yummy cupcakes are varietal with distinct flavors of the month.  The cupcakes burst with flavor but lack a bit in moisture.  We tasted and judged: the Carmel Apple, the red velvet (the people’s fave) and the chocolate salted caramel.

The best: the salted Chocolate Caramel (creamy and yummy like the name)

On your cruise through Hancock Park on your way to Hollywood, you will find Frosted Cupcake along Highland.  This, with clean lines and a organized space Frosted Cupcakery will leave you wanting more.  They have hi- top which are better than mini cupcakes and cupcakes for your doggies.  I was fortunate enough to use my recent Groupon purchase for 6 cupcakes for $9.00 (a steal if you ask me); so we went HAM on the cupcake purchase:

The best: The Pumpkin Cheesecake (Ah-mazingly moist and subtly flavorful)

.  The storefront is very festive and I found it pretty cool that they offer the cupcake mixes in a cylinder.  Although I love the family; I could have done without the Kardashian pictures everywhere.  The fact that they bake organic cupcakes fresh everyday that remain fresh for up to 4 days without refrigeration makes them a reputable cupcakery for us sweet lovers!
