Weekly workout post #4: Spin it Out Zen it Out!! YYYAAASSSS

If you've ever heard a young lady scream YYYAAASSSS.  I found the origin is when she is conquering the beast of YAS class.  Weekly Workout post #4 led me and my good friend to Y.A.S (Yoga and Spin).  It is super convenient so there was no reason for me not to try.  Unlike other studios, YAS focuses on Yoga AND Spin; ergo the term YAAAASSSS.  Contrary to their competition Soul Cycle, they do offer both classes individually  as well as a combined class.  But much like Soul Cycle, you will die during class.  There was a 7month pregnant lady who was putting me to shame!  Go girl!
YAS is awesome because it is only 30 minutes.  Perfect for first time spinners, beginners and people who are flat out scared of spin.  Once your heart rate is pumping and you sweat it out in Spin class, you move to the Yoga studio to zen it out.  The stretching, breathing and tranquility of yoga is a great balance to your workout. 

The studio is spacious, bright, and filled with merchandise.  Passersby can peek in on your class while strolling the neighborhood but not in an intimidating way.    Our instructor was very attentive and the class left me wanting more.  There are several location throughout our city:  Silverlake, Venice and Downtown to name a few.  The location downtown always has specials and events.  I will definitely be back.  Sooner rather than later.  


Here are the deets:
- bring water
- no eating before; you'll get a cramp for sure
- bring a towel (but they have them for sale)
- bring a yoga mat (also for sale or rent $2)
- arrive at least 10 minutes before to get adjusted to your bike
- for a 30% more workout; they suggest renting the spin shoes ($2)
- parking validation free for the class.
- easy to find
- intense workout but not too long
- $13 new student discount
- always monthly specials and packaged deals *unlike Soul cycle* (subliminal shade thrown)
